Assault charge brought after man dies at Scottish holiday park

A MAN has been charged with assault following the death of another man in Wemyss Bay at the weekend.

A 33-year-old man passed away in the early hours of Sunday after an incident in Rothesay Gardens, at Wemyss Bay Holiday Park.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has now been charged and will appear in court tomorrow.

A 28-year-old woman who was arrested at the time has been released.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.05am on Sunday, September 14, 2025, officers were called to a report of a man having been injured on Rothesay Gardens, Wemyss Bay.

“Emergency services attended and a 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene

“A 21-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were arrested in connection with assault."

Police confirmed that the 21-year-old man has been charged with assault and is due to appear at court tomorrow.

They added: "The 28-year-old woman was released pending further inquiry.”
