A woman has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after allegedly being assaulted at a property on Fife.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance in the Abbotsford Drive area of Glenrothes shortly after 2pm on Thursday, June 17.
A 33-year-old was found badly hurt before being rushed to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Her current condition is unknown.
A large cordon was put in place while residents reported seeing police dogs being drafted in to search the surrounding area.
Police Scotland have now confirmed that a 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A force spokesperson said: “At around 2.05pm on Thursday, 17 June, officers in Glenrothes were called to the Abbotsford Drive area following a report that a 33-year-old woman had been seriously assaulted.
“The woman was treated by ambulance and has been taken to hospital.
“A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
