GUWAHATI: The ruling BJP on Thursday released its “Sankalp Patra” (manifesto) for the municipal elections, which is scheduled to be held on March 6, with promises of infrastructure development and solutions to different civic issues, including waste management and round-the-clock tap water for households.
Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma released the manifesto in the presence of BJP state president Bhabesh Kalita at the party headquarters in Hengerabari here.
Sarma said, “The municipal areas have been experiencing plenty of issues, including drinking water, waste management and land related issues. Citizens of Assam have full faith in the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and unwavering commitment of the state government in ensuring successful implementation of welfare programmes. We strive to accelerate the pace of development and ensure effective implementation of schemes to transform urban areas and better standards of living. The Sankalp Patra is our resolve to bring positive change by facilitating dynamic development in urban bodies.”
