Aspen Ladd targeted for July 24 return from torn ACL vs. Macy Chiasson at UFC Fight Night

Aspen Ladd is ready to make her return to the octagon.

The UFC women’s bantamweight contender is targeting her comeback from injury for July 24 against “The Ultimate Fighter 28” winner Macy Chiasson at UFC Fight Night. MMA Junkie confirmed the news Tuesday with a person close to the situation who asked to remain anonymous since the UFC has yet to make an announcement.

UFC broadcast partner ESPN first reported the booking.

Ladd (9-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) is coming off a torn ACL that put her out of action for more than a year. The 26-year-old hasn’t competed since December 2019 when she stopped Yana Kunitskaya by third-round TKO. Prior to that, Ladd had suffered her first professional defeat to former UFC champion Germaine de Randamie.

Meanwhile, Chiasson (7-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) recently competed, outpointing veteran Marion Reneau last month at UFC on ESPN 21. Chiasson is currently on a two-fight winning streak, bouncing back from her first pro loss in 2019 to Lina Lansberg.
