ASOS shoppers vow to cancel subscriptions as they brand major delivery change a 'rip-off'

ASOS has sparked outrage among shoppers by making a change to its premium delivery service with a price hike that has been branded a 'joke'.

The retailer currently offers a 'Premier' service in which customers can pay £11.95 to get next-day delivery - usually £5.95 per order - for a whole year, as long as they spend a minimum of £10. However, Premier customers will soon have to spend at least £15 to qualify for next-day delivery as ASOS hikes the spending threshold from February 28.

An email sent out to Premier members outlined the change, explaining that if customers spend less than £15 they will still get 'free' standard delivery with their subscription, which delivers items within three working days and is usually £4.50 for orders under £40. It's not the first time the fashion giant has made changes to its Premier option - there was no minimum spend on orders for Premier subscribers until the £10 requirement was introduced last May, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Shoppers were not happy about the upcoming change, with many saying that they were going to cancel their subscriptions because of it. "I think it's such a scam that you now have to spend over £15 on ASOS with Premier to get free next-day delivery, like isn't Premier already £10?" one person asked on Twitter.

Another disgruntled shopper said: "So now you'll need to spend £15 or more to get free next day delivery with ASOS Premier? What a joke."

"ASOS Premier is now the biggest rip-off!" someone else wrote. "Already paid £10 for next-day delivery but now have to spend £15 to qualify, makes no sense! Definitely cancelling now."

"Thanks for ruining my day ASOS," a fourth customer said.
