ASOS shoppers spot embarrassing 'Edinburgh mistake' leaving fashion giant red-faced

Fashion giant ASOS has been left red-faced over an ‘embarrassing’ spelling error on an in-house t-shirt brand - listing Edinburgh as ‘Edinborough’.

The £12.00 long-sleeved top - currently on sale for £7.65 - contains the mistake on a fake tour schedule advertising dates across the world, created by Asos-exclusive label Collusion.

The black acid wash shirt features a large print of a cobra under the name ‘Hunter Thriller’ and above an apparent ‘outer space’ tour.

But while London, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow are all featured with the correct spelling, the Capital gets more of a phonetic treatment.

One social media user who purchased the top called out the company on social media, adding that Collusion designers should have double checked the print before putting it up for sale.

She wrote: “I think Collusion might need to go to a spelling class. Edinborough?? I’m pretty sure it’s Edinburgh.”

Asos lists the label as “a new brand for the coming-of-age generation that refuses to compromise on principle or style.”

It adds: “COLLUSION believes clothes that celebrate self-expression and inclusivity should be the norm.”

Asos has been contacted for comment.
