Asos has announced a change to its delivery service due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The online retailer emailed customers today to say the change has been made in order to keep staff and customers safe, and help reduce the spread of the virus.
Asos said that due to strict safety and social distancing measures being put in place at its fulfilment centres, delivery lead times are now longer than usual.
This also means that Asos has now stopped offering Next Day Delivery to Premier customers as part of their subscription.
Instead, Premier customers can now have their orders sent via Fastest Delivery by choosing that option at checkout.
The email to Premier customers read: “Thank you for continuing to shop with ASOS during this uncertain time. Right now, keeping our staff and customers safe is our biggest priority, and we’ve put strict safety and social-distancing measures in place at our fulfilment centres.
“As a result, our delivery lead times are longer, which means that, for now, we can’t offer Next-Day Delivery as part of your Premier subscription. But don’t worry – your order will still be sent via Fastest Delivery (which you’ll see at checkout), and we’ll get it to you ASAP.
“We’re doing everything we can to make sure you can carry on enjoying ASOS. We appreciate your patience at this time and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Customers who sign up the Premier Delivery service pay £9.95 a year to receive free and unlimited delivery with no minimum spend.
