ASOS donate 100% of lipstick sale profits to charity Look Good Feel Better

Leading beauty retailers ASOS and Avon UK today have teamed up with cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better for National Lipstick Day.

The #LipstickItToCancer campaign is to celebrate the transformative effects of makeup on people living with cancer.

Look Good Feel Better is a leading cancer support charity aimed at boosting the physical and emotional wellbeing of people living with cancer. Currently the charity provide online workshops covering skincare, make-up, haircare, wig advice and nail care.

At these workshops the charity see first-hand the positive impact lipstick can have on helping finish a person’s look and enabling them to face cancer with confidence.

National Lipstick Day falls on the 29th July each year and to celebrate the day, a whopping 100% of profits from lipsticks sold on ASOS.com will be donated to the charity.

In addition, customers are able to make individual donations through a dedicated campaign page on the charity’s website here.

Meanwhile, Avon UK will be donating 10% of profits from every order placed through their Representative online stores and directly through the Avon website.

Director of CSR for Avon Western Europe Kate Donovan says: “Here at Avon, we’ve always believed that beauty has the power to do good as well as make you feel good. We’re proud to support Look Good Feel Better as part of our Breast Cancer Promise; to ensure every woman knows the signs, knows how to take action and knows how to access support. We’re thrilled to see our Representatives raising funds through Lippy Lunches and are glad we can raise funds too with a donation this National Lipstick Day to help fund the incredible workshops.”

So far this year, ASOS has sold over 328,000 lipsticks, with the best selling lipstick of all time being MAC’s Velvet Teddy - it’s said one is sold every fifteen minutes.

Also, ranking high is Charlotte Tilbury’s stunning Pillow Talk. This luscious matte lipstick not only imparts a bold, kiss-proof colour but also hydrates and protects lips with a delicate blend of oils and waxes, together with 'lipstick tree' and orchid extracts - sounds dreamy.

With us being cooped up at home for over a year, it seems people are ready to hit the town, and they’re not afraid to go all out with a bold red lip. Also proving to be incredibly popular is Huda Beauty’s Power Bullet Matte Lipstick in El Cinco De Mayo and NARS’ Air Matte Lip Colour in Power Trip

Talking about the latest campaign, Ian Daniels, Director of Fundraising at Look Good Feel Better says: “After what seems like an eternity of mask wearing and with the removal of restrictions, we want everyone to show their smiles again by getting behind this year’s National Lipstick Day and treating themselves or a loved one to a new lipstick from either of our campaign partners. Then, using the #LipstickItToCancer, post a lipstick selfie on their social channels. The past couple of years have been incredibly tough for everyone, it is time to smile again and show our support for people living with cancer. We are indebted to our partners ASOS.com and Avon UK in supporting this campaign.”
