ASOS CEO urges online shoppers to ‘act with kindness’ amid coronavirus pandemic

Online retail giant ASOS has issued a statement to its shoppers in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Many shops have closed as the deadly virus continues to gather pace, with huge events including Glastonbury Festival and the Grand National cancelled as the public tries to cope with the illness.

In Liverpool ONE, shops including Urban Outfitters, the Apple store and Hollister Co. are currently closed, while Disney stores across the country have shut too.

ASOS CEO Nick Beighton addressed shoppers in a heartfelt email.

In it, the CEO said: “The coronavirus impacts every person, every town, every nation and every business around the world.

“So, I think it's important to share some of the steps we're taking at ASOS to keep things running as normal as possible for you, so you can carry on making orders and receiving your ASOS deliveries.

“We're making decisions and acting quickly as we gain new facts. We're following official directives and advice.

“Most importantly, we're also protecting the safety of our team, customers, suppliers, delivery partners, and our communities at large.

“This is an uncertain time, but I want to reassure you of a few things we're doing.

“Our very own ASOSers are all working hard to ensure we keep giving you the service you know and love.

“Our fulfilment team is making every effort to ensure deliveries aren't affected, so you can keep on shopping without having to worry about not receiving your order.

“We'll also keep on inspiring and entertaining you with our content – we'll be on our channels 24/7 and the conversation with ASOS is always open.

“We're going to carry on doing us the best we can, and we hope you carry on doing you, whether you're social distancing, in self-isolation, or just trying to act more responsibly... continue to be your best self, stay connected, stay responsible and act with kindness.

“Thanks,

Nick x”
