ASOS announces Lion King collection ahead of remake starring Beyoncé

ASOS Design

ASOS has teamed up with Disney to create a Lion King-inspired collection ahead of the highly-anticipated remake of the cult 1994 film.

The new film, which hits cinemas in July and stars Beyoncé and Donald Glover, has inspired an extensive fashion range for the online retailer that includes everything from the film's red-billed hornbill character Zazu flying across jumpers to Simba-themed bucket hats.

The 28-piece collection will be particularly suited to festival-goers, with ample neon offerings and a waterproof jacket that’s bound to shield any reveller from the rain.

For women, there’s also cycling leggings, mesh T-shirts and a pastel denim two-piece, all of which have been splashed with colourful Lion King-inspired prints.

One notable highlight is the sky blue mesh co-ord, which consists of a long-sleeved top and a mini skirt, that has images of Zazu flying across it.

For the men, there are eye-popping floral shirts, graphic T-shirts with stills from The Lion King printed on them and a particularly fetching lime green denim jacket that features some of the film’s most beloved characters on the back, including Simba and Pumbaa.

The collection also includes swimwear and several unisex pieces (think tie-dye T-shirts and “Lion King” slogan sweatshirts) along with styles that have been created specifically for the online retailer’s Curve and Plus departments.

Prices for the ASOS Design x Lion King collection start at £8 and it goes on sale from 2 July.
