'Ask me in January' - every word from Sabri Lamouchi on promotion hopes, injuries and QPR victory

Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi was a happy man after watching his side

The Reds moved joint-third in the Championship table with a third win in four games.

Tobias Figueiredo got the opener before Lee Wallace was shown a straight red card for a foul on Joe Lolley five minutes after the break.

Lewis Grabban made the game safe with nine minutes left before late goals from substitutes Joao Carvalho and Alfa Semedo wrapped up an excellent night’s work.

Here’s what Lamouchi had to say after the game...

On the 4-0 win

We started the game very well. After 30 minutes we were defending so close to our box so we made some correction in the break. When you score first you get confidence. We played a great game. With one player more it was more difficult for them. Congratulations to the players. They respected the opponents and they respected the game. They tried to score the second one and the third one. I think it's the first time we scored four goals. It's another clean sheet and another away game tonight. Four points from two away games, we keep working. It's very good.

Could have been more ahead after dominant start?

The plan was to start this way - to respect them. They play attractive football, make a lot of chances. Not tonight. Brice Samba made one or two great, lovely saves. We scored first and we kept ahead to the break. We made some corrections at the break. Not too much because the first half was good. The second goal was really important. With one more player we can defend and wait. We play offensively and quickly. It was a great result and a great performance.

All important second goal gave Forest confidence and deflated QPR?

Yes, with it just being one goal it was really important because the players can defend and wait to the end of the game. But we played offensively and quickly. A great result, a great performance and congratulations.

Substitutions got goals – how important to have those options?

It’s very important not only to score but from the bench to have a good attitude and be very positive. I have a fantastic group they want all to play and I have more options now so it’s good. I want that from them, they are doing a fantastic job and they deserve this result, like they deserved the result in Bristol and now we just need to focus because Cardiff will be another tough game, completely different to tonight, but with the full support from the City Ground we just want to take the maximum points.

Joint third in table, how far can you go?

After Cardiff we are one game less. I don’t want to focus on the table, maybe if you ask me in January, after Blackburn we can discuss about that, but we have a lot of games. We are where we are because of the players, they are respecting the plan, working well and deserve to be where they are.

Samba injury to his shoulder?

No, no. He’s so strong. So strong. Don’t worry about him. Everything is fine. He will be fine for Saturday.
