Lauren Child is the brilliant author/illustrator of the Charlie and Lola series of picture books, the Clarice Bean storybooks and, now, a new series featuring 13-year-old secret agent Ruby Redfort (who first featured in Clarice Bean). She has also illustrated classic books by other authors, including Pippi Longstocking and The Secret Garden.

She's agreed to answer YOUR questions about her work. Email your questions for Lauren - it can be anthing about her books, or writing or drawing - to childrens.books@guardian.co.uk with 'Lauren Child' in the subject line by Tuesday 1 November 2011.
