If you're interested in finding out what you can do to alleviate poverty in the developing world have a look at the new Rough Guide to a Better World.

The latest in the long-running Rough Guide series, it offers advice on what to do with your gap-year, how to be a sensitive and responsible tourist, and which fair trade products and ethical investments to buy.

The book is backed by the Department of International Development, which has spent £1m on making 2m free copies available in post offices across the country.

Hilary Benn, the international development secretary, will also be answering Guardian Unlimited readers' questions about the initiative and what can be done to help the developing world.

If you want to ask him something simply post a question below or send us an email, with Hilary Benn as the subject heading.
