Asics Greater Manchester Marathon 2019 road and street closures

Thousands of runners will be taking to the streets of Stretford , Sale and Altrincham this weekend as the Greater Manchester Marathon returns for 2019.

They'll be taking on the mammoth 26.2 miles on Sunday, April 7, and we're sure they'll be in need of a well-earned rest aftwerwards.

An estimated 20,000 people will be taking on the route for various charities and good causes.

But as it's a huge event for the city, do expect some travel disruption.

To help you plan your weekend arrangements and avoid long queues and endless diversions, the Greater Manchester Marathon team have put together full details of all the road closures for the 2019 event.

The ones to be aware of are as follows:

There is no exit from the M60 at junction 7 in either direction. Access on and off the M60 at junction 7 will be restricted.

Traffic travelling in both directions that wish to leave the M60 at junction 7 will need to leave at junction 6 or junction 9 dependant on their destination, or use the M56 to access areas around Altrincham.
