Tanzim Hasan, making his ODI debut for Bangladesh and catching the public's attention with an impressive opening spell, described Indian skipper Rohit Sharma's dismissal in the 'Super 4' Asia Cup match on Friday as a "dream wicket."
Hasan made a significant impact early in the innings by dismissing the in-form opening batsman Rohit for a two-ball duck.
In his second over of the game, he dismissed fellow debutant Tilak Varma, deceiving the young Indian batter with an in-swinging delivery that sent the bails flying and left Varma with a perplexed expression.
However, it wasn't Varma's wicket that excited Hasan the most.
"First wicket of Rohit bhai was a dream wicket. I concentrate on line and length and that is how I get success. When my team needs me to bowl longer spell, I am mentally prepared for that. Two balls, eight runs (needed), it was so tight (towards the end of India's run-chase), so I went for the yorker," Tanzim said after the match.
Shubman Gill's century (121) and Axar Patel's fighting knock of 42 runs did't prove enough as India failed to chase down Bangladesh's 265/8.
