India will take on Pakistan in what is the opening match for both teams at the 2022 Asia Cup on Sunday. The two teams have clashed 14 times at the Asia Cup overall.
Here is a quick list of some very interesting statistical trivia for India vs Pakistan at the Asia Cup, across all the previous editions. (The 2016 edition of the tournament was the first time it was played in the T20I format. The 2022 edition will mark the second instance of the Asia Cup being played as a T20 tournament)
1. India have won their last three Asia Cup matches against Pakistan - by 5 wickets (T20I) at Mirpur on February 27, 2016; by 8 wickets on September 19 and by 9 wickets on September 22 - both in the ODI format at Dubai (DSC) in 2018.

2. Pakistan's last win against India in the Asia Cup was by one wicket with two balls remaining at Mirpur on March 2, 2014. Shahid Afridi (34 not out off 18 balls) was instrumental in Pakistan's win by hitting two sixes off the third and fourth balls of Ravichandran Ashwin's over.
3. Pakistan were dismissed for 83 off 17.3 overs against India at Mirpur on February 27, 2016 - their only all-out total of less than 100 in the Asia Cup.
4. While chasing Pakistan's 83 on February 27, 2016, India had lost both the openers, Rohit Sharma (0) & Ajinkya Rahane (0) and Suresh Raina (1). They were 8/3. Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh added 68 for the fourth wicket, the highest after a team lost their first wicket for less than 10 runs in the Asia Cup.
5. Ducks by Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, in the aforesaid match, remain the only instance of both the Indian openers being dismissed without scoring in a T20I.
6. Pakistan have managed three totals of 300-plus against India in the Asia Cup - their highest being 329 for six at Mirpur on March 18, 2022. They still lost the match as India chased successfully - 330 for four.
7. Mohammad Hafeez (105) and Nasir Jamshed (112) scored hundreds for Pakistan against India at Mirpur on March 18, 2012 - the only instance for Pakistan when both the openers posted centuries in the Asia Cup.
8. Virat Kohli remains the only batsman to hit two hundreds in successful chases in the Asia Cup - 183 vs Pakistan at Mirpur on March 18, 2012, and 136 vs Bangladesh at Fatullah on February 26, 2014.
9. Kohli's career-best innings of 183 is the highest by any batsman in the Asia Cup.
10. Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed had managed 224 runs for the first wicket for Pakistan against India at Mirpur on March 18, 2012 - the highest stand for any wicket by any pair in the Asia Cup.
11. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma were associated in a stand of 210 at Dubai (DSC) on September 23, 2018 - India's highest opening stand in the Asia Cup as well as the highest by any pair for any wicket against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
12. Dhawan (114) and Rohit (111 not out) provide the only instance of Indian openers scoring centuries in the same innings in the Asia Cup.
13. Arshad Ayub's career-best ODI figures of 5 for 21 were accomplished in the Asia Cup vs Pakistan at Dhaka on October 31, 1988.
14. Ayub's figures of 5 for 21 remain the best by an Indian bowler in the Asia Cup.
15. Rohit Sharma has managed 367 runs at an average of 61.16, including a hundred and four fifties, in eight innings, at a strike rate of 92.44 - the most by any batsman against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.

16. Aaqib Javed's excellent figures of 5 for 19 at Sharjah on April 7, 1995, are the best by a Pakistani bowler against India in the Asia Cup. He remains the only Pakistani bowler to produce a five-wicket haul against India in the Asia Cup.
17. Two Asia Cup matches involving India and Pakistan did not see even a single six - in Dhaka on October 31, 1988 and in Mirpur on February 27, 2016.
18. Pakistan's biggest win in terms of runs against India in the Asia Cup was by 97 runs at Sharjah on April 7, 1995.
