Ashton man who squandered chance from judge is jailed

A judge who jailed an Ashton man said he was sorry for the man's mother.

In February Judge Julian Lambert handed Rashaun Keeling-Graham a suspended jail term for possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

But Bristol Crown Court heard he was caught offending in the same way just three months later.

Keeling-Graham, 23, of Buttercup Walk, pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply and having criminal property on May 9.

Judge Lambert jailed him for four years.

He told Keeling-Graham: "The person I feel sorry for is your poor mother.

"She is here in court to support you again today.

"You have let her down very badly.

"She probably wonders what she has done to deserve this.

"Nothing, is the answer.

"You are a disappointment to me as well.

"You should not have gone back with those people again."

The court heard that, while on a suspended sentence, Keeling-Graham was caught in Bristol ready to deal Class A drugs again.

Police found him with a significant quantity of wraps of cocaine.

He pleaded guilty on the basis of being put under pressure to join somebody else's enterprise.

The court heard his benefit from illicit activity was £1,915 and the judge confiscated an available £1,085 under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

The judge warned Keeling-Graham that a further repeat of the offending would cost him seven years in jail.
