Ashling Murphy: South Dublin Mayor opens book of condolences for tragic Offaly teacher

South Dublin County Council Mayor Peter Kavanagh has opened an online book of condolence for tragic teacher Ashling Murphy.

The 23-year-old primary school teacher was viciously beaten to death in Tullamore last week.

Cllr Kavanagh shared a link to the online book via Twitter and the book is available for people to sign until Monday, January 31.

Meanwhile, Fingal County Council has also opened a book of condolence.

The online book of condolence was opened by Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Seána Ó Rodaigh and it is available for people to sign until January 31.

All messages will be published and printed and forwarded in a Book of Condolence to the Murphy family.

It comes as many schools across the country are expected to observe a minute's silence at 11am tomorrow in remembrance of Ashling.
