Ashley Young names names Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo among five Man United leaders

Former Manchester United winger Ashley Young has named the five leaders in Manchester United 's squad this season.

As a former captain of the club himself, Young is fully aware of what it takes to be a leader at Old Trafford, having spending two years being managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer too.

Now, three years into Solskjaer's reign and having added some of the biggest names in world football into the squad, Young believes United's current team is more than capable of winning trophies - stating that they must do this in the current season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire and Edinson Cavani were the players he named.

Young told BBC Radio 5Live: "Cristiano - he's been around the block and won everything that there is to win with the club and he's gone away and won a lot of trophies with other clubs.

"I think the likes of Varane as well, Harry Maguire is there, you've got Cavani, Bruno fernandes has taken on the mantle, you've seen what he's been producing since he walked through the door.

"The disappointment is they haven't won anything. But the squad Ole has inherited now, the owners have given him the backing, it's time now they start putting the mantle now and start winning trophies and bringing success back to that club. The club is built on success and that's what needs to happen from now on."
