Man Utd have a problem if players can't get motivated to beat Man City, says Ashley Young

Manchester United's players will need no extra motivation to beat Manchester City after Sunday's 4-0 humbling at Everton, Ashley Young insists.

United were woeful at Goodison Park as they suffered their heaviest Premier League defeat since 2016, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer apologising to fans after the game.

Gary Neville, working for Sky Sports, was furious at full time and believes the club must sell any players who are not up for the battle of matching title rivals Liverpool and City next season.

But Young has no concerns over players getting up for the derby fight.

"We know how important (the derby) is going to be," he told the club's official website. "If you can't get yourselves up for the Manchester derby, there's something wrong.

"I've got confidence that we're going to be ready for Wednesday... we've got to dust ourselves down fairly quickly and go again this week... we've got four games left, we've got four wins to get. It's going to be tough but I'm sure we can do it."

United, who have 64 points from 34 games and sit two points adrift of Arsenal in fourth, face Chelsea, Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City in their final three matches of the season.
