Ashley Tisdale's Unexpected Front Door Color Is Delightful – Designers Say it Can Boost Curb Appeal

Ashley Tisdale.

Choosing a front door color that will stand the test of time, as well as add the right decorative touch, is a critical design move. While black or white may be safe, Ashley Tisdale proposes something a little more unexpected, but equally versatile for her front door: teal.

The actor shared a glimpse of her home's exterior on her Instagram page, and we were instantly drawn in by the contrast between her teal door and white-painted house.

A nod to this year's color trends, the blue-green mix is bold yet calming, providing the perfect balance of vibrancy and a welcoming ambiance.

Design experts say that using teal as a front door color in particular is a fantastic way to increase value to your home as well as bring some brightness to an otherwise neutral facade.

'Teal has a striking presence outdoors,' Westchester-based designer Nina Lichtenstein explains. 'For a home’s exterior, teal works beautifully as a pop of color on front doors, window frames, or shutters. A teal front door instantly adds personality and curb appeal, creating a welcoming entry that stands out from the street. Pair it with a neutral facade, like white, grey, or beige, for maximum impact, or complement it with brick for a more dynamic look.'

A testament to its endurance and versatility, Nina explains that the hue fits with a variety of architectural styles. She continues, 'Teal shutters or trim can enhance the character of a home, especially when used on coastal, Mediterranean, or Southwestern-style architecture.'

It's one of those transitional shades that works well inside your home, too. A deep blue floor covering, such as this tufted rug from Lulu and Georgia, is a great place to start. Alternatively, this fringe pillow cover makes an excellent transitional indoor/outdoor accessory for your patio or living room sofa.

Ashley's front door is a gentle reminder of the warmth and welcome of teal. As far as we are concerned, teal is not so much a statement as it is a refined take on blue and green, striking the perfect balance between natural and invigorating.
