Ashley Cain has opened up about the touching reason he has made the bed every day since baby daughter Azaylia's death.
The former reality TV star, 30, was left devastated in April 2021 after his daughter died after being diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia at just eight weeks old.
He and his partner Safiyya Voraje have documented Azaylia's cancer battle over the months, with Ashley also sharing an utterly heartbreaking video of himself speaking at their daughter's funeral.
Reflecting on his own small tribute to Azaylia, he wrote on Instagram : "I’ve never been someone to make the bed, I always left it messy.
"This morning Saf told me that she was speaking to someone and told them that since Azaylia went to heaven, I’ve made the bed every day without fail.
"This is the reason why."
He went on to share a short video of his beautiful bed sheets, zooming out of baby Azaylia’s adorable smiley face portrayed on the piece of textile.
Following the touching tribute, Ashley wrote: “We have a south-facing garden which shines light through the bedroom window.
“So I make the bed and open the blinds so Azaylia can look at the beautiful sky all day.”
The heartwarming Insta-story follows a moving video Ashley posted six days previously to mark his daughter’s birthday.
The former football player was filmed watching a Disney movie while kissing his daughter who was visibly captivated by her daddy’s phone.
He wrote in the caption: “My special girl turns 10 months old today in heaven.
“She brought so much happiness, love, strength, courage and gratitude into not only my life but my partners, my families and even people around the world.
“Even though I am hurting beyond words, I feel blessed and proud to say I am your daddy and you are my daughter.
“You lit up the world when it was dark, you gave hope when there was despair and the legacy you left behind will continue to help families and children around the world for decades to come.
“You were, you are and you always will be Special my baby.
“I love you and I miss you so so much!
“MY HERO.”
Ashley and Safiyaa went public as a couple in 2018.
Three years into their relationship, Safiyaa who works as a nurse, gave birth to Azaylia Diamond.
Azaylia died on 24 April 2021, at only eight months old and both Ashley and Safiyya have been open about the struggle of losing their beloved daughter.
The couple announced in May that they were starting a charity to fight childhood cancer in honour of Azaylia.
