Ashley Cain has spoken of his pain at planning his baby daughter Azaylia’s funeral following her tragic death, aged just eight months.

The former Ex On The Beach star, 30, and his partner Safiyya Vorajee, 35, lost their daughter to acute myeloid leukaemia last month.

In Ashley’s latest Instagram post, he said planning his daughter’s funeral was “enough to bring me to my knees.”

In a message shared on his stories, he wrote: “I always dreaded the first time I’d have to plan a funeral. But I never ever thought it would be my child’s funeral.

“Nothing could ever have prepared me for this. Some days it breaks me and I can’t even bare [sic] to do it.

“I always thought I was tough, but making decisions on how I’m going to bury my baby is enough to bring me to my knees every single time.’

“It’s hard to make sense of anything right now, especially why did it have to happen this way!”

Meanwhile, Safiyya told her fans she would be “forever proud” of baby Azaylia after she received an honour from Pride Of Britain.

The official Instagram for the annual event, which pays tribute to people across the country who “act bravely or extraordinarily in challenging situations,” shared a short tribute video.

In it, Azaylia’s picture flashed up with the message: “Dedicated with love to all those bravely fighting their own battles.”

Safiyya wrote: “Amazing. Azaylia you are my hero, and to all those who are battling a journey be brave, stay strong.”

Azaylia was diagnosed with aggressive leukemia when she was eight weeks old and a fundraiser to try to help save her life had reached more than £1.5 million.

She died at the end of April.

Sharing a photo of himself holding his daughter’s hand to confirm she had passed, Ashley wrote: “My heart is shattered. You gave my life purpose, my face a smile, filled my heart with love and my soul with pride.

“I can’t put into words my sadness and pain, there aren’t words to describe it. I love you with every ounce of my body and I miss you so much already.

“You made me a better man. You made me the person I’ve always wanted to be. You’ve taught me more in your 8 months than I’ve learned my whole life. I don’t know why you’ve been taken away from me and my heart aches in your absence.

“But I promise you that your name with live on. I will carry your name across every ocean, along every road, to the top of every mountain and across the whole globe.

“Your name will live, your legacy will be remembered and I will seek peace in living as your vessel to continue inspiring, giving strength, spreading joy and saving lives in your name, with your spirit, as your father until we meet again.”

He said she had “saved” his life and given him a “second chance”.

“I am blessed, I am honoured and I am privileged to be your father,” he wrote.

“I would go through all of the pain again and again. Because what you gave me in those eight months will live with me for eternity.”
