Ashley Cain says his body isn't recovering after catching Covid

Reality TV star Ashley Cain has revealed his Covid-19 struggle to fans, saying he was bedridden for five days.

He took to his Instagram Stories on Monday night with an update on his condition.

And in his message he confessed that his body "isn't recovering" properly after catching the virus almost two weeks ago, reports the Mirror.

The 30-year-old said: "It's been a mad 10 days. I actually caught Covid - quite bad to be honest.

"I was in bed straight for five days. Couldn't get up. I had fever-like symptoms. I was going hot and then cold and lost my smell, lost my taste.

"I get headaches, backaches, my body was completely aching. I started developing problems breathing as well."

Ashley - who lost his baby daughter Azaylia to Myeloid Leukaemia in April - admitted that perhaps he was "silly", but he kept trying to do exercise indoors as it's the only thing that brings him joy at the minute.

And he revealed that his last day of isolation came the day before England's dubbed 'Freedom Day' on Monday, July 19 so he did a 25-mile bike ride and a freshwater swim.

However, he admitted that his body "isn't recovering" following his Covid diagnosis.

He continued: "The Covid has took me way back. My body is not recovering. I did a lower body circuit yesterday and today I could hardly walk."

He said he tried to do a bike ride to loosen his legs but it felt like he was "biking with my brakes on with flat tyres".

Ashley revealed that it led to him struggling with his breathing and his muscles were fatiguing.

He finished his message by telling his followers to "make sure you're safe" and to be "mindful that there is something out there".

Earlier in the day the former footballer shared a heartfelt video of him wading into the sea to pray to his late daughter, who was just eight months old when she died.

Since her death, he has been documenting his journey through grief with his 1.3million Instagram followers.
