Ashleigh Butler emotionally opens up on dog Pudsey's death as she returns to BGT

Ashleigh Butler shot to fame back in 2012, when she won Britain's Got Talent as part of dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey.

The finalist and her pet dog, her best friend, won the hearts of the nation with their epic dance routines.

But sadly in 2017, Pudsey died after a sudden illness leaving the star devastated.

Now, Ashleigh is back on the show for Britain's Got Talent: The Champions, and this time she's got a new pooch taking to the stage with her.

Her new performing partner is just as adorable as Pudsey, with her hoping to echo the success of her first win.

Speaking ahead of the performance, Ashleigh opened up about the loss of her dog and his final moments.

She began to get emotional as she fondly remembered their time on BGT together, while sharing how much she misses him.

Emotional Ashleigh explained that Pudsey's sudden illness happened out of nowhere.

Before he died the adorable pooch looked up at his owner, with Ashleigh believing: "That was him saying goodbye."

Ashleigh was close to tears and clearly overcome with emotion as she looked down on the VT.

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions airs Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
