Ashgill celebrates Gala Day

Despite the weather, hundreds of residents turned out to show their support for Ashgill’s gala day.

The colourful parade, with participants from the local primary schools, left from Ballantine Nursing Home.

And the streets were lined with people cheering on the procession.

This year’s gala queen was Liberty Lowe, who led the spectacular array of costumes in the parade.

Pirates, Paw Patrol, Minions and cowboys were just some of the characters on show.

And a pipe band entertained the crowd.

There were also various stalls around the village with many enjoying the bar later in the evening.

Our snapper Douglas McKendrick popped along to capture all of the fun.
