This summer’s Ashes series has reached a pivotal moment, with Australia just one win away from retaining the urn, and England looking to level the scores.
After the second Test at Lord’s ended in a rain-interrupted draw, the two teams head straight to Headingley with just three days’ rest.
Australia are without Steve Smith, the series’ leading run scorer, after he was concussed by a bouncer from Jofra Archer during his side’ s first innings at Lord’s. He will be replaced by Marnus Labuchagne, who scored a half century in relief of Smith as Test cricket’s first ever concussion substitute.
Archer’s impressive debut was the headline story from that match, and he will be looking to continue his form, with England naming an unchanged line-up after Jason Roy passed a concussion test of his own on the first morning in Leeds.
