Party Tricks actor Asher Keddie has confirmed she is pregnant, following an appearance at the GQ Men of the Year awards in Sydney.
Keddie appeared on the red carpet with husband Vincent Fantauzzo and wore a form-fitting black dress that showed her visible “baby bump”. She told news.com.au: “We’re thrilled. We’re really excited and can’t wait ... I just feel good now.”
The Gold Logie winner is best known for her role on the popular Australian drama Offspring, and in 2013 spent a significant period of filming wearing a prosthetic belly. “I can’t take this one off at the end of the day, but I don’t want to.”
Fantauzzo and Keddie married in Fiji earlier this year in a beach ceremony.
This will be the 40-year-old actor’s first child, and the second for Fantauzzo, who has a four-year-old son called Luca. The artist’s portrait of his son recently won the 2014 Archibald people’s choice award. His portrait of Keddie also won the people’s choice the previous year.
Fantauzzo picked up artist of the year award at the ceremony. Other winners included Hollywood actor Dave Franco for international man of the year and swimmer Ian Thorpe for man of influence.
In October, Guardian Australia reported on the cancellation of Offspring following five seasons. The team reunited with their lead actor for political drama Party Tricks which ran for one season and will not return in 2015.
