Asda truck driver gets stuck under a bridge...blocking the road to Tesco

An Asda truck driver found themselves stuck under a bridge while navigating their way through Handforth Dean.

A queue of cars formed behind the driver on the A34, with one passenger capturing a photograph of the incident at around 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The passenger, who had been on his way to Handforth Dean Retail Park, home to shops including Tesco and Next, told the Manchester Evening News : "I felt sorry for the driver.

"I just thought it was ironic that the bridge is at the entrance to Tesco - I don't know where they were going.

"There were four or five cars behind me but it had only just happened. He just misjudged it badly."

He added: "I actually know how the driver must have felt, I had a summer job driving a delivery truck when I was younger and did nearly exactly the same thing."

The Manchester Evening News contacted Asda but they didn't provide a comment.
