Asda starts lockdown cocktail trend with nostalgic £7.50 drink

Since lockdown started, shoppers have been relying on supermarkets like Asda, Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Lidl for their alcohol fix.

With clubs and bars closed, buying booze from supermarkets and off licences is as close as we'll get to a night out, but it doesn't really compare.

However, Asda is now stocking an alcoholic drink that's brought back a load of nostalgia for shoppers.

The supermarket now stocks Sourz in a brand new strawberry flavour, so shoppers can relive their old clubbing days while trying out an exciting new twist.

A post was shared on the Money Saver Online Facebook group, which read: "Who’d love this Strawberry flavour from ASDA?!"

Since being shared the post has racked up over 400 shares and nearly 3,000 comments - with many keen to try making their own 'cocktails' at home.

"Tried this last week it’s really nice and a bargain at £7.50 in my Bury store," said one person.

Another wrote: "Game changer."

"Had this at the weekend, its very sweet and lovely. My favourite is still the cherry one though," said a third.

A fourth shopper said: Umm I’m sorry but where was this when we were mixing sours with lemonade."

"Ohhhh we would of loved this back in the day, remember the cherry coke, this would of been good with lemonade. Miss the days of furry teeth from sourz," reminisced somebody else.

Nothing like a bit of nostalgia to see us through lockdown, is there?
