Asda shoppers think adorable cake could 'freak out' children

Asda customers are delighted at the latest cake hitting the supermarket giant's shelves.

The new super cute Ginny the Guinea Pig Cake is on sale for £10 across its stores.

However some customers have said the cake could ‘freak out’ children and it is ‘too cute to eat’, Manchester Evening News reports.

We know Asda is home to new products that customers look forward to seeing. However this cake has had an unexpected level of social media response.

Posting on the social media platform, popular food discovery page NewFoodsUK shared an image of ASDA's newest cake - which is shaped to look like an adorable little guinea pig.

The post was captioned: "New Ginny the Guinea Pig Cake now available at Asda!"

Since being posted, the image has racked up an insane 49,000 comments, 4,000 shares and 12,000 likes.

One person said: "Love this!! Too cute to eat."

Another wrote: "Wow! This is lovely! I used to have lots of real piggies but my dog would eat them now. I'll have to have a cake guinea pig instead."

"I want a Ginny pig cake! Actually I would settle for a good old caterpillar cake, supermarket cakes are so boring here," said a third.

However, some people pointed out that the cake could 'freak' children out.

"How to freak out every child who has had a guinea pig, ever," joked one shopper.

A second critic jested: "Lovely but we had tears when cutting Colin the caterpillar up it will be a full melt down with a guinea pig."

"I love it but imagine the trauma of taking a knife to it, especially at a kids birthday party.," said a third.
