Asda shoppers taken aback as TikTok user uncovers hidden feature on self service tills

Asda shoppers were taken aback as a TikTok user uncovered a hidden feature on the self-service tills.

Bethany Hallam shared the tip with her followers on the content creation platform. The clip has now gone viral as it has received over 4,000 likes - as Mirror Online reports.

The user, who goes by @bethanyjade_st on TikTok, explained how shoppers no longer have to input their coins one at a time when using the self-service checkouts. She said: "I was today years old when I found out this life hack.

"Just lift the flap and let it count your money!" In the clip, she initially shows herself adding a coin at a time inside the flap.

The content creator wags her finger to show this time consuming method is wrong, before lifting the same coin flap to expose a larger compartment with a funnel for your coins. She then slotted all her coins in one after the other, saving a lot of time and effort.

The shopper added: "I love this hack and need to share it." Shoppers were amazed as they praised the hack.

Melanie said: "Can't wait to go shopping and try this."

Another added: "Omg I never knew."

One person was concerned and wrote the hack should be used with caution as it "can literally break the machine". However, Bethany eased fears as she responded: "Recently found this out, and apparently it’s how the people that work there fill it up with coins too."
