Asda shoppers say they have uncovered secret discounts online simply by pressing the ‘vouchers’ button at the checkout.
George fans took to Facebook forum Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to share their surprising savings – with one woman discovering a £7.20 voucher.
Tracey Young said the supermarket’s fashion website had randomly credited her log-in with a coupon for her spend – which she knew nothing about.
The shopper said she clicked "add vouchers" on the off-chance that there would be a saving.
It's not the first time it's happened either. She said: "They do pop up now and again when I click on that box. So it's worth a look.
"You don’t need to know or do anything. Some people (including me) just clicked on promotions and there’s been vouchers in there that we knew nothing about."
The surprise discounts are part of Asda's George Rewards loyalty club.
This is a rewards scheme set up in 2019 - where shoppers can earn points for every purchase they make.
For every £1 spent online at George.com, you'll gain one point - and the more you get, the better the discounts will be.
Right now, you can get deals like 10% off school footwear until November 21.
What you get depends on how much you previously spent, so 250 points is 10% off.
You can also collect points by completing tasks like referring friends and 100 points for signing up.
The rewards only works online, so you'll need to factor in the extra £2.95 delivery charge.
Other shoppers who have managed to reap the benefits, said: "I just looked and got £25".
Another replied: "Just checked my balance. Blooming £16. No idea where from."
A third person said: "I didn't even realise there was a rewards programme until I saw this. I would have loads of points if I had realised."
Asda Rewards is free to sign up for, just make sure you opt in when you set up an account.
The grocer also recently launched a supermarket loyalty club for online food shoppers.
The loyalty scheme is being piloted across the West Midlands and West Yorkshire as part of a “test and learn” phase.
To receive any perks, you need to sign up to the new “Asda Rewards” app - this is free to download.
Once registered, there are two ways to build cash rewards - either by buying a “star product” or completing personalised in-app shopping missions.
