Asda fans have been left divided by a new "furry cake" being sold by the popular supermarket.
The "furry cake" is suitable for vegans, and is described as a "furry good party treat-soft vegan madeira sponge layered with sweet raspberry jam and vibrant frosting, finished with tufts of colourful icing". Foodie Instagram page Newfoodsuk shared the cake to its Instagram page, which keeps its 275k followers up to date with new food products.
The post reads: “New Furry Cake from Asda! We were so excited to try this, just look at it! However, it looks a lot better than it tastes! It has a weird taste to the sponge and icing! Definitely wouldn’t recommend it if you're looking for a classic birthday cake!”

A third added: “This just made me vom a little in my mouth.” A fourth shopper said: “Bloody awful!”
Not all shoppers disliked the look of the cake though, with one shopper commenting: “I bought this for my daughters birthday party and I had so many comments asking if I made it because it looked great. Taste wasn't great though I agree."
A second said: “Aw that’s a shame as it looks amazing too!” Priced at £13, you can purchase the cake online here.
