An Asda shopper has voiced her disgust after claiming she witnessed a mother allowing her three children to lick trolley handles.
Michelle Kellaway, 34, described the children as "feral", saying they ran wild int he isles and "touched everything in sight" on Tuesday afternoon amid England's second national lockdown.
She had been shopping at the superstore in Bilton, Hull, during school hours - presuming the fellow shopper, who is not identified, had taken her children out of school for some reason.
Michelle said she was left in "disbelief" at the scenes inside the store while the family shopped, reports Hull Live.
She said: "I’ve just been to Asda and seen a mum with all her kids in tow and they’re all licking shelves and being feral.
"Same kids that are probably playing out with a million kids on a night, but not sending them to school cause it’s 'too risky.'
"She had three children, sliding around on their knees touching packets on shelves and licking the trolley handles.
"It baffles me to think why you would keep children off when school are doing their very best to keep our children safe and maintaining bubbles.
"Assuming the youngest one was maybe nursery age, but the other were definitely school age maybe six and the eldest around ten."
Asked if the mum was trying to control her children, Ms Kellaway added: "Think she was probably more focused on getting bits done and getting out of there.
"But if you are keeping your children off school because of coronavirus, don’t go into supermarkets with all three children and then proceed to let them touch all items."
Asda has confirmed, although they have received no complaints of this nature, they are looking into the claims made by Ms Kellaway.
