Asda, Sainsbury's and M&S are urgently recalling chocolate and ready meals

Supermarkets and online retailers across the UK have pulled a number of products from their shelves this week amid health and safety concerns.

The latest recalls include products sold by M&S, Sainsbury's and Asda. Anyone who has bought a recalled item is advised not to use it and to return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

These are the items which have been recalled.

Marks & Spencer - 20 cocktail sausage rolls

Product name: M&S 20 Cocktail Sausage Rolls

Pack size: 296 g
Use-by date: 10 January 2022

This product is being withdrawn because the use-by-date is significantly wrong, suggesting the product does not expire for over two months.

Lindt Lindor salted caramel milk chocolate bars

Pack size 38g
Batch code L5751 17
Best before June 2022

Lindt & Sprüngli Ltd is recalling Lindt LINDOR Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate 38g Bars because a small number of packs contain wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label. Due to a packaging error, some packs contain Lindt HELLO strawberry cheesecake bar.

M&S sticky BBQ wings and Chinese style wings

Marks & Spencer is recalling M&S Sticky BBQ Wings and Chinese Style Wings because they contain soya which is not mentioned on the label.

Asda extra special lamb moussaka

Pack size - 400g
Use by 14 October 2021, 15 October 2021, 16 October 2021 and 17 October 2021 (could be frozen)

Asda is recalling Asda Extra Special Lamb Moussaka because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

There have been several issues with this product identified by Trading Standards.

In the risk description they describe: "The product poses a risk of choking as when tested according to the tension test, the magnetic rod detaches and fits entirely within the small parts cylinder. A young child may place the magnetic rod into their mouth and choke.

"If two or more magnets were swallowed, there is a risk that the magnets become drawn to each other in the digestive system, which could cause serious injury or death if medical attention is not sought immediately.

"The bag made of flexible plastics poses a potential asphyxiation hazard to young children."

Willows Toys - black and white sensory ribbon wooden ring

Product identifiers - eBay item number: 373122533054

This product has been identified as posing several risks to young children.

Trading Standards have said the following: "The product poses a risk of choking as when tested according to the impact test, the wooden ring broke and released elements which fit entirely within a small parts cylinder. A young child may put the wooden ring into their mouth and choke.

"The 14 ribbons poses a strangulation risk to young children. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011."

This product risks internal burns.

A Trading Standards statement said: "The product poses a serious risk of choking and internal injuries as when subjected to a mechanical strength of enclosures test, the cover of the battery box detaches, and the button cells become accessible which causes a choking hazard.

"If young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death."

According to Trading Standards the product poses a high risk of choking as a young child may place the small parts into their mouth and choke.

Sainsbury’s spaghetti carbonara

Allergens - Mustard

Sainsbury’s is recalling by Sainsbury’s Spaghetti Carbonara because it contains mustard which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.
