Asda shoppers say new clothing collection 'looks like prison uniform'

George at Asda has been on the receiving end of some unfortunate comments after it shared snaps of its newest clothing collection on social media.

The supermarkets own-label fashion brand regularly shares snaps of its newest collections and buys to their fans who follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

Most of the time they receive praise from shoppers for promoting 'real bodies', but this time shoppers seem to be a bit amused with the styling of their new collection.

The collection in question is their new unisex range that features two comfortable looking tracksuits designed with comfort in mind.

Unfortunately, quite a few shoppers think the new tracksuits look more like prison cell wear rather than fashionable lounge-wear.

With their oversized fit and overall style, everyone couldn't help but wonder if the brand had looked to Orange is the New Black for a bit of inspiration.

The retailer has been sharing snaps of the new 'basics' collection to their social media pages, and shoppers flocked to the comments to give some of their best inmates jokes.

Candice Bell joked: "How long are they serving and what did they do?! #prisonuniform."

Claire Chantelle said: "Prison wear at its finest."

Tracey Poyser Neighbour commented: "Matching prison wear with your other half. living the dream."

Angela Perks said the matching outfits were, "Wentworth gear."

Chelsea LP agreed: "Asda going all Wentworth."

Despite the unfortunate jokes from some, there were quite a few shoppers who were more complimentary towards the matching tracksuits.

Amy Beatrice Hall said: "Looks so comfy. X."

Tamara Easton defended the tracksuits and commented: "Love all the Karens getting so upset over a tracksuit. It’s called loungewear, it’s aimed at being comfortable not going out to dinner in."

George at Asda's Anything But Basic range starts at £14 and is currently available online and in-stores.
