Asda's £12 'life changing' inflatable chair goes viral on TikTok sending shoppers into frenzy

By Louisa Streeting

An inflatable chair from Asda has gone viral after it was described as 'life changing'.

Asda's Ozark Trail Moon Chair has caused a frenzy online and has reportedly already sold out across multiple stores across the UK.

On the supermarket website, the description reads: "Comfortable flocked surface with sturdy coil beam construction. 2 air chambers construction, super comfortable design." The blow-up chair - suitable for both indoor and outdoor use - is available in red, light blue and lilac and is priced at £12.

TikTok user who posts under the handle @katie.ann.l shared a clip of herself walking up to the chair and sitting on it while eating. The text written over the top of the video reads: "This is everyone's sign to go to Asda and get the £12 inflatable outdoor moon chairs. Life changing!!"

It is coupled with the caption: "Honestly been living in it the past 2 days!" The song 'Emotions' by Brenda Lee accompanies the video. The video was posted on the social media app on Monday (May 9) and has already accumulated more than two million views and over 260,000 likes.

Thousands of people flocked to the comments section to ask questions about the moon chair and to share their disappointment, as the chair has reportedly been cleared from the shelves of the supermarket retailer. @kyaandco commented that they had all sold out while @shezdav joked that we should "normalise keeping things to urself [sic] so they don’t get sold out".

The author of the original video, Katie, has been so swamped with questions that they have had to create a separate video to offer more details, such as the fact it does not come with a pump and that it has the texture of an air mattress.

Lots of TikTok users have said Katie's video motivated them to try and purchase their own inflatable moon chair. @nalu said: "This made me buy one & i can confirm it’s heaven." @lucylou_0303 added: "I was gonna buy one when I went this morning and now I’m regretting not."

Fans of the chair in Bristol will not be far from an Asda with eight different branches across the city, including Bedminster, Patchway and Filton. To find your nearest branch use the store locator on their website.
