Asda recalls range of frozen chicken items due to presence of salmonella

Asda is urging shoppers to return a range of frozen chicken products due to salmonella fears.

The supermarket is recalling packets of frozen Original Chicken Chargrills.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in retail stores that are selling the product.

The notices explain to customers why the item is being recalled and what to do if they have bought the product.

If you have bought a packet of the Original Chicken Chargrills, Asda is urging shoppers not to eat them.

Instead, return them to the store where you bought them for a full refund.

The product details are:

  • Asda 2 Original Chicken Chargrills
  • Pack size: 170 g
  • Batch code: 31120953
  • Best-before date: 05 September 2022

Asda posted a recall notice on the Trading Standards website. It has also posted information on the recall on its own site too.

Shoppers who would like further information should contact the Asda Customer Relations team on 0800 952 0101.
