Asda recalls cranberry and nut cereal bars due to salmonella fears

Asda has recalled a variety of its own-brand cereal bars due to fears they could be contaminated by salmonella.

The supermarket issued the voluntary product recall on Saturday, April 20.

Asda says it has taken the precautionary step of recalling its packs of four x 35g Cranberry and Nut Cereal Bars, due to fears they could be contaminated with salmonella bacteria, which can lead to fever, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Products affected have a best before date of September 2019.

Customers who have bought the cereal bars should not eat them, and can return them to the store they were bought in for a full refund.

No other products are affected by the recall notice.
