Asda recalls chicken and sweetcorn pasta over salmonella fears

Asda has recalled a batch of its chicken and sweetcorn pasta salad after testing found salmonella.

The supermarket has recalled the 400g salad with a use by date of 23 April.

Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning.

Product recall notices have been displayed in all the the stores which sell the product, and customers will not require a receipt to return them.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised customers to avoid eating the product and return it to the store for a full refund.

No other Asda products are known to be affected, the FSA says.
