Asda puts Baileys Red Velvet Cupcake on shelves ahead of Valentine's Day

Baileys is a firm favourite over the festive period.

The famous Irish Cream liqueur has a velvety texture made from a combination of smooth cream and whisky.

And while the drink is popular at Christmas time, over the years the brand has brought out many seasonal flavours.

In autumn, Baileys launched a Salted Caramel flavour, and over summer periods customers have also been able to grab Baileys Strawberries and Cream.

Now, the most indulgent flavour yet is available in supermarkets to mark Valentine's Day - Baileys Red Velvet Cupcake.

The liqueur is made from scarlet-coloured sponge and chocolate flavouring and is creamy pink in colour.

Baileys' new product means you can literally have your cake and drink it, with experts suggesting the tipple is best enjoyed straight from the fridge and poured over ice.

The sweet-tasting, limited-edition drink is a perfect gift for Valentine's Day.

Asda's Spirits Buying Manager, Lauren Bungay, said: "We know our customers love the smooth and creamy taste of Baileys, so this February we wanted to treat them to an exciting twist on this much-loved classic.

"The Salted Caramel Baileys was a huge success at Christmas and we’re sure that our customers with a sweet tooth will love this bottle too."

The Baileys Red Velvet Cupcake Liqueur will be available in stores from January 27, 2020.

A 70cl bottle will be priced at £16.
