Asda pharmacies to offer free prescription delivery service during Coronavirus outbreak

Asda is launching a free prescription delivery service across all of its 255 pharmacies to help get vital medication to its customers who are self-isolating or un able to get into stores.

During the coronavirus outbreak, there has been a huge increase in prescriptions, and some customers aren’t able to get out and about to collect them from stores.

Existing Asda Pharmacy customers will have their uncollected prescription items delivered direct to their homes from this weekend.

Faisal Tuddy, Superintendent Pharmacist at Asda said: “We want to do everything we can to help our customers during this time, so we felt it necessary to offer a free prescription delivery service to our customers who are self-isolating or less able to get into our stores.

"We are pleased to announce this service will be available from today, and we hope to get the backlog of vital medication to our customers’ homes over the coming days.”

Asda Pharmacies are still operating, although opening hours may have changed.

The most up-to-date information can be found on the Asda store locator.

Asda has made some changes to its services during the COVID-19 situation, but pharmacists can still dispense prescriptions, sell over-the-counter medicines and offer general advice on minor ailments and common conditions, aiming to reduce the number of patients needing to visit their local GP and easing pressure on the NHS.
