Asda makes big fuel change at every petrol station in the UK

Asda has announced filling up your fuel tank will now be cheaper.

The supermarket has confirmed petrol prices have dropped below 100p per litre at every single petrol station during lockdown.

It means making essential journeys, such as to the supermarket, will now cost less for those that fill up at Asda

Asda told shoppers: "You'll find that earlier this week we cut the price of unleaded fuel by 3p per litre and reduced diesel by 4p a litre.

"Our nationwide price cap means that motorists filing up at any of our petrol stations will pay no more than 99.7p per litre for unleaded and 104.7 per litre for diesel.

"Following the fall in oil prices, this fuel price cut means we can continue to support the nation during these unprecedented times and help lower the cost for people who need to be travelling to and from work and those who need to make essential journeys."

Asda isn't the only major UK supermarket reduces fuel prices down during lockdown.

Morrisons has also reduced the price of its petrol to less than £1 per litre.

Earlier this month, the price of unleaded petrol dropped to 99.7p per litre, while diesel was reduced to 104p per litre.

A spokesman for the supermarket has said: "To say thank you to all key workers and other motorists making essential journeys, we're cutting the price of unleaded to 99.7p per litre and diesel to 104.7p per litre from tomorrow morning."
