Asda launches school uniform savings card with a free bonus for parents

How many times do you plan on saving up for school uniform and it never quite happens?

Well Asda has launched a savings card to help parents do exactly that - with a bonus that gets bigger the more you save.

The School Shop Savings Card works in the same way as other store savings schemes and you can either top-up online or in store whenever it suits you.

The idea is that families save between now and the summer holidays when they start preparing for the new school year in September.

A cash bonus is rewarded on the cut-off date of August 8, with the amount depending on how much you've saved.

It ranges from £1 for those who have saved £30, up to £15 for those who have saved £280. While it may not seem like much, that's the equivalent of a five per cent bonus on top of what you set aside.

Although it's mainly aimed at buying uniform and school essentials, you can use the card on anything in-store and online, so if you end up saving more than you need it won't go to waste.

If you've got several children and would be going over that £280 mark - easily done with shoes, coats, stationery and sports equipment thrown into the mix - you'd be better getting two cards to start earning a bonus on the second one.

Cards can be ordered online or picked up in stores now. Find out more on the website here.
