Asda launches new George loyalty club and here's how to get the discounts

Asda customers can now earn loyalty points when they buy items online as part of the chain's latest rewards club.

The new George loyalty scheme gives shoppers the chance to claim points for every transaction made - which can then be exchanged for discounts on future purchases.

For every £1 spent online at George.com, you'll gain one point - and the more you get, the better the discounts will be.

Unlike other loyalty clubs however, your points aren't equivalent to cash - ie £100 points will not equal £1 off your next order.

Instead, you trade your points for access to promotions, such as a 10% discount on a range of clothing, or, right now, summer dresses.

Shoppers can collect points as and when they make purchases.

You'll also get 100 free points when you sign up, which will automatically be added to your account when you 'Opt In'.

That's on top of 150 points for writing a review and bonus points on your birthday.

Once you've collected enough points, you can go on the rewards page and unlock the relevant discount. These rewards change from week to week.

One shopper on money-saving website HotUKDeals said she's already earned 1,000 points.

"I wrote some quick reviews and I already have 1,000 points," she explained.

Other ways to collect points include by ordering in the morning (between 12am and 12pm), using click and collect and referring a friend - providing they register at George.com.

And the best part is you can also keep your points even if you return the item - although that’s not the case if the order is cancelled.

Anyone can join - to get involved, you'll have to create an account via the website . Customers will then be able to opt in once they have registered.
