Asda launches £30 essential food box with guaranteed two day delivery

Asda has today launched its essential food box aiming to help its most vulnerable customers during lockdown.

Priced at £30, the box promises to be filled with a number of cupboard essentials plus household items too such as toilet rolls.

It also includes a number of treats.

The price includes the cost of delivery and the food box will arrive to customers within two days of it being ordered online.

The food box is available to all, but Asda hopes it will help those most vulnerable who are struggling to get to the supermarket, or those who are self-isolating, reports WalesOnline.

The delivery will be made by a third-party provider so won't add additional pressure to Asda’s existing grocery home shopping service.

Mike Snell, managing Director of Asda’s sourcing and procurement arm, IPL, said: "For vulnerable people across the country, staying at home and not being able to make a trip to the supermarket is a difficult prospect.

"At Asda, we’re committed to helping ease the strain on our customers during this time and hope that by offering our food box at an affordable price, we can help to make lives that little bit easier, giving people peace of mind that their cupboards will be well stocked without the stress."

You can order your box on Asda's website here.
