Asda launches £2 donut beef burgers with a hole in the middle and we're confused

There's a new must have barbeque item this year, and it's donut burgers - or is it?

Asda has launched packs of the 'Donut Beef Burgers' aimed at shoppers to fill with fabulous flavour combinations such as pulled pork or cheddar - maybe even an egg?

Whilst most diners will be used to their burger being topped with delicious flavours, filling the burger donut style is a relatively new concept, and we're not sure what to think.

Because won't you want a burger with cheese all over it? Are you getting the same amount of burger? What do I fill it with? What bun do i use? (Bagels, by the way). There's a lot of questions.

The new donut burgers come in 280g packs of two for £1.97 and are available in store and online here.

Whilst we're slightly confused, we actually can't wait to try them - and they've already been a hit with customers.

One reviewer said, "Burger & Beer the perfect match Fits perfectly over neck of beer bottle so no plate needed. Can you bringing out a doughnut bun to put it in".

We love the originality.

A normal burger may be cheaper, but you actually get more meat with these ones. The donut burgers average at about 99p per patty, making them more expensive than other burgers as you can get four of Asda's Butcher's Selection Quarter Pounders for the same price, which works out at 49p per burger.

However, you actually get more meat with these burgers as they're thicker, they weigh 140g each, while the quarter pounders weigh 114g each.
