ASDA issues important message to all shoppers ahead of Father's Day

Supermarket giant ASDA has shared an important message to shoppers ahead of Father's Day this year.

While many families look forward to celebrating with their dads, for some, it can be a triggering and often difficult day - and hearing about it can cause issues.

As a result, ASDA has given shoppers the option to opt out of Father's Day emails this year.

In an email to shoppers, the supermarket wrote: "Hi there, Father's Day is approaching and we know this can be a difficult time for some of us.

"If you would prefer not to see any emails about this event, please let us know by clicking below by 9th of June.

"This will only stop emails about Father's Day, but you will still receive our usual great offers and rewards. From, ASDA Customer Team."

Father's Day this year falls on Sunday 20 June.

In the UK, Father's Day always falls on the third Sunday in June.
