Asda is selling pizza for 75p and chips for 43p - full list of Eat Out to Help Out deals

Asda cafés will be selling sandwiches for less than a pound on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays this month.

The supermarket giant has confirmed to Mirror Money that all 112 of its eat in cafés will be offering diners half price food in August.

But while the offers are just as good as the Government's scheme, Asda is providing the discount itself - and not using any taxpayer money to fund them.

An Asda spokeswoman told Mirror Money: "Asda’s cafes are running a 50% off deal in August when customers eat in. This will be valid Monday to Wednesday and will start Monday 3rd August and end Monday 31st August."

She added that, like with Eat Out to Help Out, the discount is capped at £10 a person - and there was no minimum spend.

In even better news for people looking for a bite to eat, the 50% comes after any other offer is already applied - including the "kids eat free" offer after 3pm when an adult spends £4 and the over-60s discount on Wednesdays.

Asda's full English breakfast will cost £2.18 (LeicestershireLive)

Here are some of the best deals at Asda cafés this month if you're eating in from Monday to Wednesday:

  • Bacon Or Sausage Sandwich - 98p

  • Full English Breakfast - £2.18

  • Beef Burger -  £1.08

  • Fish & Chips - £2.38

  • Slice Of Pizza -  75p

  • Cheese & Ham Toastie - £1.30

  • Chicken & Chorizo Panini - £2.40

  • Chips - 43p

  • Lemon Drizzle Cake - £1

  • Muffins - 65p

The move from Asda follows similar discounts at Morrisons and Tesco.

Tesco decided to cut prices at its cafés without taking money from the Government, and also allow people to order half priced food for takeaway too.

Morrisons, meanwhile, signed up to the Government scheme Monday to Wednesday, but added that it would keep the half-price deal for the rest of the week as well - and cover the costs itself.
